The good news from last season is that the club improved their win record by 7 games. The bad news was that they still finished 13th in the Eastern Conference. After beginning this season with a 10-game losing streak, head coach Scott Gordon was relieved of his duties to take a position as advisor to the GM while the team promoted Jack Capuano to an interim head coach position.
In the offseason, the team drafted Nino Niederreiter with the fifth overall pick and in free agency picked up Mark Eaton, Milan Jurcina, P.A. Parenteau, Zenon Konopka, Jeremy yablonski, Andy Hilbert, Rob Hisey and Mike Motau.
